January 30, 2010, at Marina (Marina Tournament)
In an unusual scheduling quirk, the Aztecs faced off against the Vikings, whom they had just beaten the night before, in the continuation of their Marina Tournament game in December. That game was suspended at the half with the Aztecs holding a 2-0 lead, due to rain.
When the game resumed at the second half, the pitch was slick with dew, and on a sunny Saturday morning, chilled by foggy haze, Esperanza kept the pressure on the Vikings, getting several excellent chances. The Viking keeper proved his mettle, however, and kept the Aztecs at bay.
The Aztecs failed to score, but kept the Vikings scoreless as well, and the Aztecs preserved the 2-0 lead. The win took Esperanza to the finals, against rivals Los Alamitos.
